Celtic leave it late, Killie hold on at Ibrox and Hibs beat Well – Team of the Week
Celtic took a ten point lead in the Scottish Premiership with a late, late win at Dundee, while Kilmarnock left Ibrox happier with the point after drawing 1-1 at Rangers. In Leith, Hibernian look certain to achieve a top-six finish under Paul Heckingbottom whilst Hearts suffered another bruising defeat away to Hamilton.
It’s Adam Mackintosh with the team of the week.
Seny Dieng – The on-loan QPR goalkeeper was unlucky to end up on the losing side as his Dundee side lost a last-minute goal to Celtic. The result leaves Dundee just a point above St Mirren at bottom of the table.
Aaron McGowan – The former Morecambe full-back scored Hamilton’s only goal as they picked up a vital win at home to Hearts. This was his first goal for the club.
Mark Milligan – The Australian replaced Darren McGregor in central defence and kept the Motherwell attack quiet as they beat them 2-0. Hibs are now just two points behind their city rivals Hearts.
Kirk Broadfoot – The former Rangers defender played well as Kilmarnock drew at Ibrox. His performance was epitomised by a perfectly-timed tackle on Ryan Kent in the second half.
Daryl Horgan – The Irish winger tormented Motherwell as Hibs win 2-0. Horgan has been in fine form since Paul Heckingbottom joined Hibs, contributing to his unbeaten league start.
Stephane Omeonga – A fine performance by the Belgian helped Hibs to a comprehensive 2-0 win over Motherwell. This capped off a fine week for the midfielder as he was called up for the Belgian under-21 squad.
Scott Martin – The young midfielder played well as Hamilton beat Hearts. After loan spells at Forfar and Arbroath, this is the 21-year-old’s first full season in the Premiership.
Craig Sibbald – The former Falkirk midfielder scored for the second week running as Livingston drew 1-1 at Pittodrie. Livi have only won once away all season but have picked up draws at Hibs, Motherwell and now, Aberdeen.
Odsonne Edouard – The Frenchman scored a late winner at Dundee as Celtic went ten points clear at the top of the league. His goal at Dens was his 18th of the season.
Alfredo Morelos – The Colombian scored another important goal for Rangers as they drew at home to Kilmarnock. He has scored 29 goals for the season, nine of which have come against Killie.
Niall McGinn – The Northern Irish winger scored a fine volley as Aberdeen’s home struggles continued with a draw against Livingston. This was the 31-year-old’s sixth goal of the season.
