Celtic wrap up eight title and Dundee relegated – Team of the Week

With just two weeks to go in the Scottish Premiership this season Celtic wrapped up their eighth consecutive title with victory at Pittodrie, while Dundee were ultimately relegated at home to Hamilton after a miserable season. It’s Adam Mackintosh with the team of the week.

Goalkeeper

Scott Bain – A 15th clean sheet in 18 league games helped Celtic to a 3-0 win at Pittodrie. Bain has only conceded three league goals since replacing Craig Gordon in goal.

Defence

Paul McGinn – The fullback helped his side to a potentially vital point as they drew 1-1 against Motherwell. With Dundee relegated, St Mirren will now hope to avoid the relegation play off.

Stuart Findlay – Findlay scored the only goal as Kilmarnock beat Hearts 1-0. This is the second season running that Killie have broken their record points tally.

Craig Halkett – The defender scored from for 40 yards to give Livingston a 1-1 draw against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park. Halkett is Livi’s joint top scorer with 7 for the season.

Midfield

Steven Davis – The Northern Irish international provided the assist for the only goal of the game as Rangers beat Hibs 1-0. The 34-year-old signed a one-year contract with Rangers in midweek to make his loan move permanent.

Youssouf Mulumbu – The Congolese midfielder impressed as Kilmarnock moved into third place with a 1-0 win at Tynecastle. All four meetings between the sides this season have been won by the away side.

Callum McGregor – Two assists for the midfielder helped Celtic seal their 8th consecutive league title with a 3-0 win at Aberdeen. These were his 10th and 11th assists of the league season.

David Turnbull – A 13th goal of the season looked to have given Motherwell a victory against St Mirren, but a last-minute goal gave the Saints a point at Fir Park. Motherwell are a point behind St Johnstone as they look to finish 7th for the second season running.

Attack

Tony Andreu – The forward scored the goal which relegated Dundee and put Hamilton four points clear of St Mirren and the relegation play-off place. This was his first goal since returning to the club in January.

Odsonne Edouard – The Frenchman scored Celtic’s third as they won 3-0 at Pittodrie. This was his 15th league goal of the season in 31 appearances.

Jermain Defoe – The veteran striker scored the only goal of the game as Rangers won their 5th game in a row, beating Hibs 1-0. This was his 8th league goal in 15 appearances.
